Related: Terms · Privacy · site Guide
1. Lawful use only
You may use the service only for lawful purposes. You must not use Umbra to violate applicable criminal or civil law (including computer misuse, fraud, sanctions, child sexual abuse material offenses, illegal stalking/harassment statutes, and trade in stolen data where prohibited).
2. Authorization
You must only investigate systems, people, or data when you have a lawful basis to do so. Where the product records an authorization basis, it must be accurate.
3. Service abuse
Prohibited:
- Circumventing rate limits or technical protections
- Attacking, scanning, or overloading Umbra infrastructure except authorized security research disclosed under SECURITY.md
- Using the Service as an open proxy or bulk scanner against third parties without authorization
- Attempting to access the operator console or other users' cases
4. Content
You must not submit or process content that is illegal to possess or transmit (including CSAM). We may remove data and report to authorities when required by law.
5. Dual-use OSINT
Passive collection of publicly available information may be lawful in many contexts and is not banned solely for being “intrusive.” Illegality, not discomfort, is the line. You remain responsible for source terms of service and local law.
6. Findings are not consumer reports
Do not use Umbra outputs to make decisions about credit, insurance, employment, housing, or other purposes regulated by the FCRA or similar laws.
7. Enforcement
We may rate-limit, block, delete data, and cooperate with law enforcement when we reasonably believe the service is used for illegal activity or severe abuse.
8. Changes
We may update this AUP; the effective date will change. Continued use after updates constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
Phone number pages
/phone exists so someone can check an unknown caller. It is not a tool for
finding out who a number belongs to, and we do not provide that.
You may not use it to:
- harass, stalk, intimidate or "expose" a person;
- research a specific individual's phone line for personal disputes;
- report a number to punish, embarrass or pressure whoever answers it;
- scrape or bulk-collect the numbers or reports.
Community reports, once open, are allegations by strangers — not findings by Umbra, not evidence of a crime, and not a claim about anybody's identity. Repeated false or retaliatory reports lose access.
